Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Eagles continued a busy Thursday morning, signing cornerback Nolan Carroll to a two-year deal. The Eagles also acquired running back Darren Sproles from the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a 2014 fifth-round draft pick on Thursday. Carroll played his first four seasons with the Miami Dolphins after being selected in the fifth round of the 2010 draft. "Nolan Carroll brings good experience to our team," said Eagles coach Chip Kelly in a statement Thursday. "Hes been a starter in Miami. Hes a good athlete and hell bring good depth to our cornerback position. His skill set fits what we are trying to do on defense and special teams." He started 12 of the 16 games he appeared in last season, totaling three interceptions and two sacks. Over his career, Carroll has three sacks and five picks in 58 games, which includes 26 starts. Terrell Suggs Elite Jersey . The 36-year-old announced his retirement on Friday after having played in Montreal, Los Angeles, Edmonton, Pittsburgh, Columbus and Tampa Bay. Jacoby Jones Jersey . Tuesday nights 5-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox fit that category perfectly. Michael Bourns two-run double in the seventh inning snapped a 3-all tie and extended Clevelands winning streak to a season-high five straight games. http://www.shopjerseysravens.com/Womens-Matt-Elam-...ic-Jers ey/ .C. - The New Orleans Saints will have to wait another week for a chance to clinch a playoff spot. Chris Canty Jersey . -- San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks was fined $15,570 by the NFL on Wednesday for his hit on Saints quarterback Drew Brees last Sunday. Jacoby Jones Elite Jersey . The 32-year-old native of Mont-Tremblant, Que., said on his Twitter account that his knee was bothering him. Guay underwent knee surgery over the summer, then returned for the start of the World Cup season after an intensive rehab program. The free agency period took some time to heat up this year but now five days in, the majority of big names has either found new places to call home or decided to stay with their current club. Andy Fantuz is off to Hamilton, Brendon Labatte and Dominic Picard to Saskatchewan, while Ryan Phillips and Dante Marsh will stay in BC after all. Now that the frenzy is mostly over, which team do you think improved the most from the free agency period this off-season? Hamilton Tiger-Cats Hamilton landed the premier free agent on the market in Andy Fantuz, who will pair with Dave Stala to form one of the most potent Canadian receiving tandems in the league. The Ticats werent done with Fantuz, also adding DE Greg Peach, who will help offset the loss of Justin Hickman to the Indianapolis Colts, and non-import LB Kevin Eiben, who will add depth and versatility to an already solid linebacking corps. Saskatchewan Roughriders Although they lost Fantuz, the Roughriders picked up two major additions for an offensive line that lost mainstay Gene Makowsky to retirement this off-season. Brendon LaBatte and Dominic Picard were the top two o-linemen on the market and Saskatchewan landed them both. Non-import DB Paul Woldu was also a useful addition. BC Lions Ryan Phillips, Dante Marsh, Lin-J Shell and Byron Parker will all be patrolling BCs defensive backfield in 2012, giving the Lions four Division All-Stars along with Korey Banks, locked up earlier in the off-season. Technically, oonly Parker was a free agent period signing; Phillips and Marsh agreed to deals with the Lions just before they would have hit the open market and Shell was signed after the Argos cut him in January.dddddddddddd Edmonton Eskimos Winnipeg wasnt happy about it, but the Eskimos managed to snatch up sought-after receiver Greg Carr, even after the Blue Bombers thought they had him in the fold. Edmonton also picked up defensive lineman Don Oramasionwu to solidify their defensive line with a non-import. Montreal Alouettes The Alouettes made two defensive signings that fell under the radar a little, but that could also have significant impacts for the team next year. LB Rod Davis comes over after a solid year in Edmonton while DT Aaron Hunt joins the team from BC. Both signings were West Division All-Stars last season and Hunt was a CFL All-Star. The Argonauts made most of their roster changes before the free agency period, most notably adding QB Ricky Ray via trade from the Eskimos, while the Blue Bombers focused their attention more on locking up their own talent – all three of their QBs were re-signed in the two weeks leading up to free agency. Calgary was also content to stand pat in free agency, having earlier signed new stars Drew Tate and Jon Cornish to contract extensions. Our question to you is: What team improved the most with free agency this off-season? Youve seen the changes that have been made, now its your turn. As always, its Your Call! ' ' '
